Travel Awards 2015 // Best Hotel…

A really great hotel is truly hard to find.  One that is a beautiful, doesn’t give up when it comes to customer service and comfort.  And of course it has to be in a brilliant location and look fabulous too.  It’s not to much to ask now is it?

We have stayed in many hotels this year, from countryside retreats to city pads.  Here are our top three:

3. The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch, London

I’ve stayed here twice this past year.  Both times, I was transported from country bumpkin to shoreditch hipster.  The Hoxton is uber cool, full of uber cool people and located in Shoreditch.  If you are looking for hip and buzzy then this London hotel is for you.  Book your stay here.

2.  The Artist Residence, Pimlico, London

It hasn’t been voted London hotel of the year for nothing.  The most wonderful hotel.  The devil is in the details, and this hotel has it all.  We never felt so comfortable. Our room was ‘the loft’, up several flights of stairs but worth it.  We just need to stay more than one night next time. Book your stay here.

1.  Hotel Brummel, Barcelona

I still dream of this place. Dan and I fell in love it all.  The architecture, the design, the food, the location, BARCELONA!  Oh beautiful, beautiful Brummel.  We WILL be back in 2016, and this time taking the boys.  Brummel is up there as one of my most favourite places of all time.  Book it NOW!

What we loved:

  • The architecture
  • The courtyard restaurant, dark grey walls and sleek marble top tables
  • Rough luxe
  • Poble Nou district, cool, full of artists and great cafes
  • Walk into Central Barcelona in 20 minutes or take the Metro
  • It’s Barcelona!
