This summer our weeks are filled with wilderness and adventures. Camping under the stars and toasting things on an open fire. As a family it is one of our most favourite things to do, spend time outdoors, learning new skills and getting plenty of fresh air.
Fforest over in Cardigan, West Wales (yes where Sisterhood is also held) is hosting it’s beautiful festival, GATHER, once again this summer. Gather is a two week holiday/festival of adventures in nature, music, culture, creativity, making, growing and simple pleasures. A chance for you and your family to spend time in beautiful Wales, and learn some new skills too.
Set in the great outdoors of Fforest, there will be two weeks of events, from Monday 15th August to Monday 29th August 2016. Gather is a new kind of family holiday, book a week at fforest in one of their beautiful spaces or bring your own tent, and then all workshops, events and activities are free.
Each of the 2 weeks will be led by a group of creative mischief makers. The Hosts will bring their own special brand of magic and orchestrate the revolving cast providing the creative adventures, live music, inspiring talks, workshops, films and outdoor activity for all the family.
Or if you prefer, book yourself into one of the iconic fforest domes, crog lofts or kata cabins for a little bit of fforest magic.
The line-up is looking incredible! We are going on the second week, from 22nd – 29th August and I can’t wait to get stuck in to what’s on;
- Hand dying with Hazel Stark
- Letterpress print workshop with Nick Hand
- Forage and botanical walk
- Spoon carving with Wood & Woven
- Wild swimming and morning yoga
- Studying and drawing nature with Esther McManus & Nick Wood
Dan is looking forward to;
- Beerbods talk on craft ale
- Charcutier workshop on making sausages
- Bake with Evil Gordon
- Astronomy and the night sky with Pembs Astronomer
And the boys – well they will love it all! A chance to run wild, climb trees, create, learn and make friends in a gentle environment.
We can’t wait!
Will you be joining us too? There are a few tickets still available for both weeks, limited Fforest accommodation, but plenty of camping spaces.
You can discover more and book your tickets over on the Fforest Gather website. See you there!
