Simple Living // L’Occitane skincare regime…

Last Autumn/Winter my skin took a beating. You may remember my post back in April when I freaked out about my grey and sallow skin.  A long winter, poor nutrition and using cheap nasty shower gel on my face had left me looking old. After seeing myself in a photograph (they never lie do they), I vowed to look after myself, to enrich my skin and find my youthful glow again.

Fast forward six months, my skin hasn’t looked better.  I have been complimented at how great it looks, and even been told that I looked 10 years younger, really?  Wow, even if it wasn’t true, I’ll take that – thank you!

So what has happened? Well, a mix of things really:

Water

Drinking more water than coffee – no brainer really.  Water helps to cleanse the body, rid it of toxins, plus rehydrates the skin giving it a plumper appearance.

Summer

Yeah, a bit of a tan can give a rosy glow to those cheeks.  That, and being outside more, breathing in fresh air and exercising, all contributes to a healthier complexion.

Regime

Gone are the days of a quick face wash with shower gel, and slap on a cheap multi-purpose moisturiser. Now I love to pamper myself, really spend time on my face and body.  I’ve recently discovered Creme Divine by French brand L’Occitane.  A pretty ‘egg yolk yellow’ bottle of herbal scented anti-ageing cream.  They say:

With 5 patents, Divine Cream acts at the heart of cells to visibly correct all signs of ageing, for beautiful, younger-looking skin.

Used on a daily basis, it:
1. Maintain skin’s youthful potential
2. Intensely nourishes
3. Visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles by 24%
4. Give a feeling of firmer (91%) and more elastic (95%) skin
5. Reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, to reveal a sublimated skin.

With its unctuous texture, the Divine Cream melts deliciously into the skin, giving a sensation of supreme comfort.

DIVINE RESULTS:
A new breath of youth seems to come from the very heart of the skin. Bursting with vitality, it simply glows with beauty.

I’ve been using this creme for a few weeks now, and oh, the effects are marvellous.  The main ingredient in the Divine Cream is Immortelle. Immortelle is known as the everlasting flower: it never fades, even after it has been picked. Its organic essential oil is rich in active molecules with unique anti-ageing properties. Over ten years ago, L’OCCITANE revealed and patented the exceptional anti-ageing powers of Corsican immortelle – the only variety that contains an incredibly high concentration of active ingredients. Not only that, it smells heavenly too!

This Winter I am upping my self care, and taking time to look after myself.  Long luxurious baths, regular pedicures and hair cuts.  Why wasn’t I doing this in the first place who knows?  Typical mama – always putting everyone and thing before myself.

So, are you with me?  Shall we make this Winter the season of us? To take time to look after our mind and body?  Who is with me?  Yes? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a hamper of L’OCCITANE products to help us indulge in some proper me time?

L’OCCITANE is giving away a luxury hamper worth over £300, plus some wonderful runners up prizes too:
